Dai4Films Plans Facebook-based Music Showcase

Welsh independent film company Dai4Films is to make a series of monthly viral programmes aimed at showcasing unsigned musicians on social networking site Facebook.

The first showcase will be shot at London’s Embassy Club next month and will be posted on Allen’s Facebook page. After that they will be filmed each month in Camden Town.

Milly’s World, hosted by former Tottenham Hotspur player Paul Allen’s daughter Milly, is billed as the “antidote to The X Factor”. The programme will film unsigned bands Allen has seen, or who have got in touch because they want a record deal. The only other criterion is that they must write their own songs.

MTV and Channel 4 are understood to have turned down the show, but Dai4Films is pitching it to other networks.
